My neighbor finally finally finished the cupola. And I had barely put up some fencing to try and protect the sprouting seeds the children and I planted. I think there are wildflower mixes, zinnias, marigolds, morning glories, larkspur, and sweetpeas. It works about half the time! Chickens are very good at finding small spaces to squeeze through, especially when there are tender green shoots on the other side! And now, ladies and gentlemen, we have the answer to the age old question "Why did the chicken cross the road?"
Well, now that all the building elements and hardscaping (fencing and flagstone path) is in place, I can't wait to see what it looks like landscaped when everything grows in!
I did also buy some plants at the nursery. On the left is a pink mandevilla and towards the right are a few Texas Blue Bells.
Do you like my cupola and weathervane? You can't tell in the picture but it is a rooster weathervane. I'm so excited! I love the finished look!

Oh my gosh, it is so darling! I am turning green with envy. That chicken coop is a royal palace indeed!

Your chickens must love their cute coop, topped with a pretty cupola. This is cuteness overload! Hehehe. That weathervane is the perfect accent! Cupolas have been used in architecture for over a thousand years, and they are still being fashioned on buildings and homes today. I think that can be attributed to the appeal they give to the places they’re put in.
