It's amazing what a little time off can do for a person! A person, no one in particular, may even have time to do some blogging.
This year, Oberon was supposed to be at a conference at the lovely SunRiver resort near Bend, Oregon from Valentine's Day through the weekend. So, since he had a room, he invited us to tag along.
I love tag along trips. There's some great satisfaction in knowing that I was supposed to be apart from the husband but, somehow, fortune smiled on us, then winked and waved us along our merry way. And let me tell you...SunRiver is a great tag along trip! And I got to be with all of my Valentines too.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day. I was thinking of my many loved ones and wondering what you all were doing. We had a busy day getting school Valentine's ready, helping in classrooms, then packing like Tasmanian devils and driving the 3 hours down to SunRiver. But it was a wonderful day because we knew we were going to spend some time together when we might not have otherwise.
(And today more than made up for yesterday's craziness! We're renting a cabin/condo that's bigger than our apartment, have been cooking delicious meals, swam at the resort indoor pool, went on a family bike ride along the miles of gorgeous paths here, and are making s'mores in front of a crackling and fragrant fire at this very moment. There is so much to do here! I'm so impressed with the resort and can highly recommend it to anyone, summer or winter. Also, I have been working on my wood fireplace fire skills and am finally getting the knack of it after nearly forcing us to evacuate the first night. ahem...it's not an exciting story at all.)
So, if you're reading this, know that I'm thinking of you and missing you, wishing I could be more in touch with all of the family and friends that are spread out away from me.
Our little Valentine's were super cheesey and simple, due to lack of creative thought and time, but they were given with love by some adorable people. (Although maybe not as adorable as my sister's baby daughter who greeted her dressed up as Cupid yesterday.)
Can you imagine what a killer this little man in SpiderMan pajamas was with his bouquet of lollipops?
"Happy Valentine's Day with all my hearts."
"You make me bubble with joy, Valentine."
From us to you, we love you!

There was NO VALENTINE at my home :-(
I feel left out :-(
